The British OIB section is more than just Shakespeare. We are also interested in current affairs and the world around us. That’s why, mid-December we went to watch ‘Animal’ a new documentary directed by Cyril Dion.
To quote Cyril Dion:
« Five years ago, I co-directed ‘Demain‘ with Mélanie Laurent, a film that showed that different solutions to the climatic crisis exist.
Today, ‘Animal‘ deals with another huge ecological crisis: the 6th mass extinction. In the last 40 years, 68% of the world’s wild vertibrate animal populations have disappeared. The film takes us on a journey around the world to understand this phemomenon and more specifically shows us how we can tackle this issue. We wanted to tell another possible story of the future. We wanted to give back some hope and enthusiasm at a time when we have never needed it more. »
The film raised some very interesting questions and led to quite a heated debate between our first-year students, the school eco-reps and the head of discipline Mr Ayad.
