MUNDP: A rich and rewarding experience

Our Montebello delegates held their own at the online MUNDP conference of more than 300 students from all over the world mid February.

Here is how they felt about it:

Jules, a year 11 student was participating for the first time. He said: “MUNDP was a unique experience, where I learnt so many things. A conference like this is really interesting for everyone, especially if you want to study politics in the future. MUNDP is not just a conference, it is also a place where you can make contacts from all over the world. MUNDP was an unforgettable and stimulating experience that you should at least try if you are in the OIB.”

Ariane, a year 12 student had participated before. She said: “I have participated in two MUN conferences before MUNDP, but this one was clearly my favourite of the lot. Although my other experiences were fantastic as well, MUNDP clearly surpassed them: the debates were fruitful, the chairs did an amazing job, and the overall atmosphere was better in my opinion. In addition to that, during my previous MUNs, I never really managed to make friends with the other delegates, so I assumed it would be the same with MUNDP (even more so since it was online and the others weren’t). However, I was surprised to find myself bonding with a few of them and we have stayed in touch.” Ariane

Jean, another year 12 student explained his thoughts: “I have to admit that I was apprehensive before MUNDP, an online conference with people from all around the world was a very big step in the unknown. But when it started, I immediately realized how precious an opportunity it was, as it gave me the opportunity to meet extraordinary people whose voices I would never have heard without the event; and talk to them about very instructive and various subjects. Our chairs and each delegate’s motivation managed to overcome the technical issues that the online nature of the conference could have caused. Even though screens will never replace a physical meeting, the conference has been a fruitful experience which I will definitely remember.

I found the debates very rich in interest, and brilliantly entertained by delegates who vividly defended their countries. I am grateful to the entire organization and to our dear advisors who allowed us to take part into the conference. I would definitely do it again if the opportunity presented itself!”

Maybe next year it could be you!
